Transforming Lives Through Nutrition Education
On September 6, 2025, the Mark 6 Feeding Inc. team visited Kwafokrom in the Nsawam-Adoagyire Municipal of the Eastern Region for another impactful outreach program.
The focus of this outreach was to educate mothers and caregivers on Early Childhood Dietary Practices, empowering them with the knowledge to raise healthier, stronger children. The session emphasized the importance of balanced meals and how everyday foods can be combined creatively to improve nutrition.
What We Shared and Taught
Our nutrition team guided mothers through the “4-Star Diet Approach”, a simple yet powerful model that helps ensure children get all the nutrients they need to grow well. Caregivers learned how to:
- Combine energy foods, body-building foods, and protective foods effectively.
- Use locally available ingredients to create nutritious meals.
- Include fruits as snacks for children to boost vitamins and immunity.
A highlight of the day was a hands-on food demonstration, where participants prepared a wholesome Carrot–Yam–Potato Pudding enriched with vegetables. It was an engaging, practical way to show how nutritious meals can be affordable and appealing to children.
Impact in Numbers
The outreach recorded a remarkable turnout with:
- 👧 187 children
- 🤱 88 mothers
- 👩🦱 44 adolescents
Every child went home with two packs of cereals and one pack of food supplements — a gesture of love and support for the families who joined us.
Spreading Smiles and Hope
The event was filled with joy, laughter, and gratitude. Mothers expressed appreciation for the lessons learned and the food items received. It was a clear reminder that nutrition education is not just about food, it's about building healthier families and brighter futures.
